The Cabinet Mountains Wilderness is located in northwestern Montana, 15 miles southwest of Libby. Here you'll find beautiful sub-alpine scenery, from high rocky peaks often snowcapped year-round, to huge groves of cedar trees. Hidden in the peaks and ridges are scores of deep blue lakes, feeding clear, cold streams that tumble to moose country below. The National Wilderness Act of 1964 defines the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness as an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.
