Welcome to Prince of Wales Island, the third largest island in the United States of America. Only Kodiak Island and the Big Island of Hawaii are larger in area. Price of Wales Island is at the southern end of Southeast Alaska.
The Prince of Wales Archipelago, named in 1793 by Captain George Vancouver, includes the main island and hundreds of adjacent islands – a total of more than 2,600 square miles, with at least 990 miles of coastline. Prince of Wales Island is 135 miles long and 45 miles across at its widest.
